Windows can't see my CD ROMs

Boot your machine with a Win98 boot disk from
www.bootdisk.com, then see if you can read your
CDs. If you can then you have a Win2000 problem.
If you can't then you have a hardware problem.
 
Hi,

2 days ago my CD Roms (One DVD the other CDRW) were just working fine, now
I am getting the message that both were unsafely unplugged from the
system--the problem is that ITS THERE.

I've already tried the "add remove" hardware and it didn't worked. Please
help me.
