There is something wrong with my Windows XP Prof with SP2. I can no longer
do many of the things that I used to be able to do. For example: I cannot
save the Outlook .pst files anymore - I cannot browse to my YouTube Videos
because I keep getting the error message: "You either have JavaScript turned
off or an old version of Flash Player" - and Windows no longer makes the
connection to my Camera (It did previously).

Is there a way to update my Windows files WITHOUT destroying the settings?
When I put in the Windows Installation CD and click "Check Windows
Compatibility" it warns me that if I proceed I will replace all my settings
with the Windows default settings.

Thanks in advance for any help. Jim.

Hello,

For your problems, you may want to try reinstalling the flash player as well
as the software for the web camera. Try connecting the web camera to another
USB port directly on your computer (not through any hubs).

One way to check your files is to use SFC - Have your XP CD handy and,

Start > Run > SFC /SCANNOW > OK

The other option is to do a Repair install
