Windows Backup Utility

Does the Windows Backup Utility have the ability to
produce a catalog of all occurrances of a file,
say "xyz.abc"? I am doing incremental backup twice daily
and the backup file is quite large and I do not know an
easy way to search for my file using the restore utility.

The Windows backup utility is barely adequate at best. Suggest
getting a better backup program, one which will produce a catalogue
and also backup directly to CD\DVD and span if necessary.

Thanks CS,
that is what I was afraid of.
But I do have a second hard drive which I am backing up
to so that is easy and safe.

Second hard drive is quick and as long as you have the space makes for
a good backup media. Try using an imaging program to do your backups
instead. Suggest giving Norton Ghost or Drive Image a test run. You
can get information on both programs at www.symantec.com. Or if you
would like to test a shareware program:

"Image for Windows" www.terrabyteunlimited.com

Good luck and regards.
