Windows Audio Service - Windows XP

Hi, I'm having a problem with a game and Windows Audio Service in Windows xp
Pro.

The game is NASCAR Racing 3. When I try to run it, the screen goes black as
if it's about to start, but then pops back to the desktop.

If I disable Windows Audio Service in MSConfig under services, the game
starts fine, but with no audio of course.

This happens on 2 different machines, with different hardware.

Machine 1 has a DFI Lanparty Pro 875 (latest revision, B) with intergrated
audio (CMedia).

Machine 2 has a ASUS CLSL2 with a PCI sound card (Aureal Vortex).

I have a 3rd machine that runs the game fine. It has an ASUS P4T-E with a
Sound Blaster Live Value card.

It seems to be a problem with Windows Audio. Any clues before I start
swapping hardware around to test?

Thanks,

sdm

Check for updated drivers for the 2 sound cards that don't work. Also, check
some of the official and unofficial sites for NASCAR Racing 3 (check for
patches to the game while you're there). Many of these sites have technical
help.
