Windows and Fax viewer won't work any more

for some reason my Windows and Fax viewer has stopped working. In
explorer, I see only the generic image for a jpg file. If I click on
it, nothing happens. This is particularly maddening when trying to
upload the files, because I can no longer see previews.

1. Can I fix this?

2. If not can you suggest another program that can be associated with
jpg files that will allow me open pictures and see previews within
explorer?

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
