Ady's pointer is great if you need to re-install ... however, you will not get any NEW updates and I can assure you that keeping the system connected to the Internet is just asking for trouble without MS issuing new security patches.

Use it as a stand-alone PC or try Linux.

Yes, it is, as far as I know.

I've installed that in the past and it's been Ok.

It is connect to the internet for old software ,games.

But got a firewall blocking the internet.
