windows 98 start up

does any body know what you do when you turn on your computer and it displays
a sqare white box and it say enter password key>whats that??
my computer is a compaq presario, with windows 98 nothing i try will let me
on to the computer,ive never seen this can you help.
 
This is a newsgroup for XP problems! Check with the other Windows 98 groups
(look for win98!)
