Hello

I have an Windows 2000 AD with an windows 2000 terminal server.
Now i have bought a new Windows 2003 terminal server (For some new
applications).

I found out, that i could not register the licens on my windows 2000 server
that holds the License service. So i have installed the license service on
the new Windows 2003 Terminal server, can the two license Services exist
together?
And is there any way that i can be sure that the licenses are granted right?

I cannot see that any licenses is issued when i log on to the new server, so
i am confused if it works rigth.

Hope that i have described the issue okay.

Thanks on advance :))

Windows 2003 TS CALs come in 2 different types: Per User or Per
Device. That's why a W2K Licensing Server can't handle them.

Did you install Per Device or Per User TS CALs? If Per User, is the
Terminal Server (not the Licensing Server!) set to use "Per User"
licensing? The default is "Per Device".
You can check this from Administrative Tools - Terminal Services
Configuration - Server Settings - Licensing Mode
If it's set to Per Device mode, it will look for a Device TS CAL
and will not issue your Per User TS CALs.

Check this article, it explains that even after you have
switched licensing mode on the TS, your Per User TS CAL count will
not be decremented:
