Windows 2003 migration (with Exchange 2000 Server)

Hello all,

We are planing to upgrade some of our current Windows 2000 Domain
Controllers to Windows 2003. We have the following environment running:

test.com
+ domain control 1 (Windows 2000)
+ domain control 2 (Windows 2000)
+ domain control 3 (Windows 2000)
+ exchange server (Windows 2000, Exchange 2000)

sub1.test.com
+ domain control 1 (Windows 2000)
+ domain control 2 (Windows 2000)

sub2.test.com
+ domain control 1 (Windows 2000)
+ domain control 2 (Windows 2000)

TESTOLD (NT4 domain with trust relation ship)

I have now two questions, and I'm wonding if the following zenario is
possible. Our migration plan looks so:

1. upgrading dc1 (test.com), including adprep
2. upgrading dc2 (test.com)
3. unpromote dc3 (two dc's should be enough)

The exchange server (and the underlaying windows) should stay on Windows
2000.

The question is now, can I use an Exchange 2000 Server (on an Windows
2000 Server) in a domain with Windows 20003 DC's? Can I leave the child
domains on Windows 2000 and upgrade them later?

Thanks for your help,
Thorsten

p.s. All servers are running SP4, Exchange is running SP2-postrollout
