Windows 2003 ADPREP

Hi,

are there any known problems with the ADPREP of Windows 2003?

I need to install a new Windows 2003 Domain in a Windows 2000 forest. We
also have Exchange 2000 in the Forest and need Exchange 2003 in the new
Windows2003 Domain.

I will make this steps:

1. Prepare the Forest with ADPREP /FORESTPREP on the SCHEMAMASTER
2. Prepare the Domain with ADPREP /DOMAINPREP on the INFRASTRUCTURE MASTER
3. Wait for replication
4. Prepare the forest with setup /forestprep and setup /domainprep from
Exchange 2003
5. Wait for replication
6. Prepare the Childdomains with ADPREP /DOMAINPREP on the INFRASTRUCTURE
MASTER
7. Prepare the Childdomains with setup /forestprep and setup /domainprep
from Exchange 2003

I know that some little steps will missing, but i need to know if there are
any problems to use this environment.

Best regards

The only drawback in this situation is that when you already have Exchange
2000 running in the forest, then run adprep /forestprep for Windows 2003
that some attributes in the Schema get mangled. This is due to Exchange
already created the attributes and forestprep for 2003 is trying to create
them and they already exist. It is a simple fix with the inetorgperson kit
that is downloadable from MS public web site. If you already have a 2003
forest and run exchange 2000 forestprep, the situation does not happen, FYI.
