windows 2000 update

I have a fresh install of windows 2000 and when I run
windows update it doesn't get past the searching for
updates screen. I haven't had this problem before. Any
suggestions?

try removing your nic card and see if you can continue
setup.
i am having same problem with an ibm machine.
