Windows 2000 Terminal Server freezes after log in prompt

I'm running a windows 2000 terminal server and ever since i installed
symantec antivirus coporate edition 9.0, the screen freezes after i try to
log in. Then i tried to run in safe mode to uninstall the antivirus, it
gives me an error saying "windows installer service could not be accessed.
Verify windows installer service is properly registered." So now in order for
the server to run, i can only boot up in safe mode with networking. Does
anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Disable the associated service while in safe mode, so it doesn't start when
you boot normally. After you boot normally, uninstall the program or contact
Symantec Technical Support to remedy the problem.
