Windows 2000 Task Scheduler wont start

I am unable to start the task scheduler on one of my
servers.
Win 2000 Server SP4

Error message:

Could not start the task scheduler service on local
computer.
Error 2147500037: Unspecified error

I have tried:
1) Reinstalling SP4
2) Confirming that service logs on as local service
account and Interacts with desktop
3)RPC Service is running properly
4)Registry settings match those of another Server which
works properly

Rob,

The few times I have personally seen this it was because the SharedSection portion of the data for the registry value
Windows in the following registry key was not set correctly.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems
