Windows 2000 sp4 & Memory Usage Problem

Hi-

I am trying to troubleshoot a Windows 2000 server. Since
sp4 has been installed, the system's memory usage slowly
creeps up until a point where the system begins to perform
poorly/slowly. Currently, the server is being rebooted to
clear the problem. It takes about a week (depending on
system usage) for the memory usage to reach a critical
level.

It appears to be a memory leak but we can't seem to
isolate a specific application that is causing it. I've
used the Performance monitoring tool to gather data as
described here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en-
us/default.asp?url=/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en-
us/prork/prec_evl_wwbd.asp

When we started logging the performance data, memory usage
was around 612 MB. The server is rebooted when memory
usage reaches about 2 GB.

I've also read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 825237
Memory Leak Occurs After You Install Microsoft Windows
2000 Server Service Pack 4
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=825237#appliesto)

We don't have MOM installed but do seem to have a memory
leak problem. I don't know which software packages on the
server might be generating RPC traffic. Is there a way I
can check this (short of trying to contact the
manufacturer of all installed software)?

What else can I do to see if this hotfix is applicable to
this system?

Any other suggestions for how to track down and solve this
problem would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Daisy
