windows 2000 shared folder problem

D

datkinsion

I have a smalll network with 6pc running xp pro and
connected to windows 2000 server. I have created a folder
for all users to access for adding there own photos and
viewing others . The folder is viewable to all users ,
they can copy a pic if they want to edit it but they can
not delete any from the folder , this is ok , the problem
is when a user tries to add a pic to the folder it is
saying access denied. I go to properties of the folder
and security and permissions but can not find a way to
allow users to access folder , copy and edit , not
delete , and add there own pics.
does this make sense , i would appreciate any suggestions
thanks

You haven't told us if theis is a workgroup or a domain.

In any case, you need to set Read Write Executer permission on the folder
and grant Full Control to Creator Owner.

That will allow a user to add, read, copy. They will be able to delete pictures
that they created, but not other users pictures.
