What happens when it is shut down, hang, nothing, etc.
Any pop up messages or errors come up.
Anything change on it since it was last rebooted (ie, new sw installed,
different configuration changes made, etc)
Really need a bit more information here to be helpful, but applications and
services not shuting down properly can be one reason.
