Windows 2000 server won't start (stop error)

We have a Windows 2000 Server with service pack 4. This
morning we had a power failure. The server is on battery
backup, but we did a proper shut down of the server before
the batteries died. Now the server will not restart. It
gets halfway through the Windows 2000 splash screen then
crashes with the following message:

stop:0x0000007B
(0x8572FB48,0xC00000010,0x00000000,0x00000000)
inaccessible_boot_device.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are a couple of causes for a stop 7b error. These are a problem
loading the mass storage driver or a file system error. In your case I
suspect it is a file system error. What you want to do is boot from the
Windows 2000 CD and go into Recovery Console. Then run chkdsk /r. See if
that resolves your issue.

I tried, but am only given /P and /R as options.

Sorry for sounding like an idiot in my last post. My brain
was fried and I was confused between /r and /f. Anyway, I
tried chkdsk /r. At the end it said it found and repaired
one or more problems, but Windows still will not boot. I
still get the same stop error. Any further advice would be
appreciated. Thanks.
