Recovery to different hardware

Trying to recover the OS from a Compaq 6400R/ w/3200 array
to a HP 380 G3 w.5i array on Windows 2000 server. Other
than working around the obvious boot.ini issue with making
sure the restore boot.ini is not pointing the incorrect
partition, I getting a BSOD. The splash screen comes up
and W2K almost loads, then the BSOD.

****STOP 0X0000007B <0XF601F848, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000,
0X00000000> INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

I have ran recovery on the boot sector and startup
environment to no avail. I ensured the boot.ini was
correct.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Matt

I have seen and read through it. Though I am not so sure
it is a HAL issue. None of the articles mention fighting
BSOD's after the recovery. Maybe they assume that.

I haven't tried the in-place upgrade repair as one article
suggests. I don't guess that would hurt. I hate to lose
a lot of my settings I want to keep from the old
installation.
