Windows 2000 server and wireless adaptor

Hi Everyone,

I have a PC with Windows XP with a USB wireless adaptor. It allows to see internet at my company. I have another PC with Windows 2000 server and I try to use the same wireless adaptor to see internet at my company. But I cannot access internet. The software tells me I have 100% signal. I am sure the USB wireless adaptor works. How can I fix it? I can connect my 2nd PC to the LAN to see internet. But I can't do wireless. Please help me. Thank you very much.

Christine;

I dont know how familar you are with networking, but I'm
going to try anyway. On the windows 2000 computer, is it
set for DHCP or static IP? If it is set for DHCP, make
sure it is recieving an IP address. Click start, run,
type cmd, hit enter, type ipconfig, and check for a valid
IP address (you can do the same thing on the windows XP
computer for a point of refrence (you will have a valid
one on that PC)) After checking the IP, and if turns out
okay, check with a ping. Try pinging your default
gateway. Unfortionatly, I can go on forever on different
things to try, so I'm going to stop here. Hopefully, it
will give you a start.
