Windows 2000 Server & 2003 Server Question

Here's my question. I currently have a WAN network and each location has it's
own Windows 2000 Server setup as a PDC with it's own domain name. None of the
locations communicate with each other, they are all seperate. So when I'm at
location A and a computer logs in to that domain, it only has access to that
server. From a system admistrator point, it's a nightmare to manage. I
purchased a Windows 2003 server and my plan is to set it up as a PDC and
every user from each location would log into this server and then have access
to their files on the server that's at their location. Here's the thing,
since all of the 2000 servers were orginally setup to be their own domains,
is there a way so I won't have to restage every 2000 server to integrate with
the 2003 server ? If I run DCPromo on each server, will that work. Any help
is greatly appreciated.

Hi Marc,

You need to have a WAN link between sites if you want users across the sites
to access resources. I would say if you have WAN link between 2 sites then
better go for a single domain name with 1 domain controller in each site. In
your current scenario you need to have trust relationship as well as WAN
connectivity between the different domain but if you go for a single Win2K3
domain then you can access resources across the sites and manage from single
location.
