Windows 2000 Pro upgrade vs. Clean Insall over Windows ME: mistake

I went ahead and did an upgrade of Win 2000 Pro over Win ME instead of a clean install

Can I go back and now do a clean install of Windows 2000 Pro given that I just did the upgrade

Hi Michael,

A supported upgrade path from Windows Me to Windows 2000 is not available
because Windows 2000 was released before Windows Me, and upgrade
capabilities were not included. With many core changes such as the registry
split, the removal of real-mode support, and new features such as Microsoft
Windows Movie Maker and System Restore, Windows Me is not a candidate for
upgrading to Windows 2000.

To answer your question directly, you should be able to install clean over
your current installation.
