I installed a brand new copy of windows 2000 Pro.
Downloaded all the patches and SP4. It was working great
untill I installed HSP56 modem drivers. Now windows
doesn't boot up and hangs at the Windows 2000
professional screen. Can't boot from the safe mode
either.

My questions is how can i start windows without
reformatting. Not too concerned about the modem.

Specs:
Intel Pentium 4
Amptron PCChip M925 motherboard (built in video/snd/lan)
512 MB DDR 2100
79 GB Maxtor HD, 52x CD ROM and Floppy

Any suggestions please?
Thank you,
Salman

You need to locate the modem driver (xxxx.sys) and rename
it while in Command Console mode.

Thanks for the tip. How would I search in the recovery
console? Does it work like DOS prompy??

Type "Help" while in the Recovery Console, to see
the available commands. You will need commands
such as CD, dir, ren. It is better to rename suspect
driver files than to delete them, in case you have
second thoughts!
