Windows 2000 login error

I have a user getting this message when he first logs in. He has Win2k pro
client loggin into a Win2k server in a domain environment.

error message:
Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the
default profile for the system.

DETAIL - Incorrect function.

Somebody trashed the folder for the user in C:\Documents and Settings\,
most likely.
