Client computers cannot find login server

W

warren

I am having a weird problem which just began a few weeks ago out of
the blue.

I have a Webserver (win2k server) and about 62 client machines. Eaach
client machine logs in with one user account called temp. This account
has remote folders on the webserver.

Lately, some of the computers receive the error "Windows cannot locate
your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local
profile...". When I get to the desktop and ping the webserver I
receive a response from the external nic on the multihomed computer
192.168.1.2 - I then can either flush the dns or renew the ip address
and ping the webserver and receive the correct response from the
internal nic 192.168.0.1.

All of the 62 stations are on the subnet 192.168.0.XXX with a mask of
255.255.254.0, the nic on the webserver is also a subnet of
255.255.254.0

What would be causing this, and is there a resolution that anyone
knows of?
