Windows 2000 login bounces back

When I try to login into a Windows 2000 computer with a
domain account, which works on other computers, this
certain computer when logging in will try to load
preferences but only bounces back to the login screen
again.
I have removed the computer from active directory, I have
reset the password for the account, and I even moved the
computer into a different subnet and still cannot login
with the student account.
I have tried the Microsofts KB without success and Im
about to reformat, any suggestions will be appriciated.

I doubt this computer is fully patched.
Open Taskmanager and look for the msblast.exe, mspatch.exe or teekids-proces
or other weird processes. Kill it and go to
www.sophos.com\support\desinfection to get the removaltool. After that
install ms03-039 from microsoft to prevent from happening again.
