Windows 2000 AS snap-in failed to intialize

We have been running a Windows 2000 AS server with SP4 flawlessly for 9
months, its running IIS 6 with php, perl, and mysql simply running websites.
Yesterday when I went into Admin tools, every single one of the snaps-ins is
"broken" and they all give the following error:

"snap-in failed to initialize"
"name: xxxxxx"
CLSID: {xxxxxxxxxx....}

We tried repairing windows, etc. nothing helped, we had to rebuild the
server and re-install windows fresh.

Now, 24 hours later it has happened again!

Any ideas?

Thanks,

re-install again and disconnect from network for 25 hours, if still not ok
disable task scheduler for 25 hours, and if still the same, re-install your
antivirus s/w... prehaps ;-)

I am rebuilding the server now, after the rebuild I will try your suggestion
-- we scanned with norton, macafee, microsoft, and stinger all clean, BUT
bitdefender found some stuff which we think is the culprit. I was hoping
there was a way to rebuild the lost information, but we have tried to no
avail and must rebuild the whole thing.

Anyway, still hoping someone has a suggestion of how to "fix" it without the
rebuild.
thanks.
