Hi Folks:
On a Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 3
installed, I try the following:
Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->
Computer Management. Then I double click "Services and
Applications" I immediately get the following error
message:
MMC
Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name - not available -
CLSID: {80105023-50B1-11D1-B930-00A0C9A06D2D}
[OK]
I click the OK box. An hourglass comes up for a fraction of
a second. Then I double click on "Services and Applications"
again and everything appears to be fine. The following icons
appear and are all accessible:
Telephony
MicroSoft SQL Servers
WMI Control
Services
Indexing Services
Internet Information Server
When I close the window and try to go back into "Services and
Applications", I get the error screen all over again.
We will be selling servers like these to our national and
international customers very soon and the Germans and Japanese
are especially troubled by these types of problems. Anyone seen
this before? MMC Snap-in is injured, but not dead. Is the real
problem with one of the 6 items listed, Telephony to Internet
Information Server? Any solution?
Thanks,
Dennis Herrick
