windows 2000 and Epson 1670

My Epson 1670 was working fine for 2 months, then it started to give
me an error "Please install the supported TWAIN driver". I have
reinstalled the software 7 times and also the updated twain from
Epson. Still it does not work. I talked to Epson today and they said
Windows 2000 Pro does not have twain.
Can any one help me out, what's wrong ??
