window xp won't upload

while my son was playing a game on the computer he was pushing a whole bunch
of buttons. now the computer won't work. when i restart the computer it
goes to the window xp screen and won't continue uploading. what should i do?
i'm in of help.
 
Hi jen,

Start your computer and keep tapping the F8 key in order to invoke the
Windows Advanced Options menu. Cursor to highlight "Last Known Good
Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)" and hit ENTER.
