Window XP - Sandisk not recognised ??

Newly installed window XP (upgrade from window 98) using
the USB port for sandisk.

- window XP will NOT recgonize it.
- Window XP shows new device but cannot find it nor
recgonize it.

RESULTS: lost ability to use my SANDISK reader/writer
entirely.

Any solution ???
