(1) Does anyone know if I purchased a Win XP Pro upgrade would it install over MCE and still save all my applications, desktop settings, mail account, etc.?

(2)Is it even possible to "upgrade" from MCE to Pro since MCE was released AFTER Pro?

The answer to your questions is in the the links, that I removed, on that other forum.

"If your computer is currently running Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Pro is not an upgrade from Windows Media Center. Media Center is not a qualifying edition of Windows for upgrade/downgrade through this program. If your computer has Media Center and you wish to use Windows XP Pro, you'll need to purchase the full edition of Windows XP Pro".

Remember Cd's with 98, ME. 2000 or Home are Qualifying Products which will enable you to use an Upgrade version of PRO and still install it "clean".
