Window Update Settings - Security Centre

I have recently noticed that I am unable to change the Window update
settings in the security centre option.

I find that when I click on "Turn on Automatic Updates" I get a message
telling me that the "Security Centre could not update my settings".

When I check in the settings in System all options are greyed out.

Does anybody know what has caused this?

Open GPEDIT.MSC,(Pro edition only) and see if some Policy setting is
preventing that.
