Hi all,
I am a novice to XP. Once a popup told me that I can see controls of
window media player on the taskbar after minimizing it. I had to rightclick
the taskbar and activate the window media player toolbar. I did that and i
got it done. But all of a sudden the task bar stopped showing the toolbar. I
reactivated it by clicking but it did not. I do not know why. Could anybody
help please?

This toolbar only appears when Media Player is running and is minimized.
This is called "mini mode".

Thanks Doug,
However, I am not understood properly. I know that anything is shown on
the taskbar only when it is running. I am minimizing the WMP and on the
taskbar find only the icon and the lable of Window Media Player. What I want
is the control buttons, that is, the mini mode button.

Thanks in advance to all who peep in and answer,

Try the following. Click Start, Run and enter

REGSVR32 "C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER\WMPBAND.DLL"

Make sure you include the quotes in the command line. If XP is installed on
a different drive than C:, change the path accordingly.
