Window Mail Fail during email download

I have this problem on both a desktop and a laptop with diffeence email
account.

Window Mail start downloading email from roadrunner server, and the status
windows indicating the number of message being downloaded. It stop
downloading with the following error message.

Account: 'pop-server.socal.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.socal.rr.com',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Message number 14 could not be retrieved. Account:
'pop-server.socal.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.socal.rr.com', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90,
Error Number: 0x800420CD

On the laptop, the internet connection was disabled (stopped) after the
Mail's error messages. I have to reboot the laptop before I regain internet
connection.
I deleted and re-setup the email account on the laptop, but I keep getting
the same error message.

I have CA security suite, and the anti-spam and spyware option were both
disabled.

Any suggestion ?

You need to go to the web site of your ISP, log in to your account, read and
delete the (probably?) large message (Message number 14 could not be
retrieved.) that is blocking your mailbox?
