Window live messenger

My parents live in the USA and have Windows XP Pro, and I live in Australia and have Windows XP Home. We both have the latest version of Windows Live Messenger. My parents sometimes have problems with their PC and ask me for help. How do we use the Remote Assistance feature in WLM (or another product, if need be)? A detailed description would be most useful.

These information do not mention about same or different network or domain.
I tried it and it worked for the same network but it seemed not working
over internet with different nework. Any help please.
