Window Live Data Prevention Issue

Acer laptop purchased new with Vista Home edition. Downloaded Windows Live
and after install the program shuts down. Error message is that Data
Execution Protection caused the shut down. Went to the Data Execution
Protection tab and changed the setting to recommended as per Vista and the
program still does not work. Same error message. Any ideas>
