Window Firewall

Hi,

I cannot turn on the window firewall. The button is grayed out. Can
somebody help me? I think I click the "default" button by mistake.

I have Norton Anti-Virus Professional 2003 then I subscribe to Window Live
which constantly saying it cannot upgrade the virus definition. I think I
finally was able to uninstal NAV but the Window Live One Care still giving me
the same message that it cannot upgrade. I have a hard time trying to cancel
my subscription to WLOC on line. Also how do I uninstal WLOC?

Thank you

Windows Live OneCare has it's own firewall, and disables the XP firewall I
suggest you post to one of the the OneCare forums:

Thank you, Rock for directing me to the OneCare forum. When I signed up for
Window Live One Care, I thought MS will fix any problem the program
encountered without any interaction on my part. It looks like I am wrong.

I am not a computer guy and I don't have the knowledge to do all the
download/uninstall/install in order to fix the problem. I think I will just
cancel my subscription.

Again, thank you Rock for your help.

You're welcome, though I don't quite understand you're reasoning. No
program can fix themselves automatically. On the other hand, I don't
personally care for OneCare, there are other programs (some of them free)
that work well in combination.

Anti-Virus: Avast (free), AVG (free), NOD32; Firewall (all free): Sunbelt
Software Kerio Personal Firewall, Comodo Personal Firewall, Zone Alarm;
Anti-Malware (all free): Ad-Aware SE Personal, SpyBot S&D, Windows Defender,
BHO Demon, Spyware Blaster, HijackThis.

None of these is self healing. If a program develops a problem, then you,
the operator, or someone, has to fix it.
