Window automatic update # 811493 Security update

This up date keeps coming to my computer every day for the
past 5 days and was also sent to me in May of 2003. Why
does it keep coming? Is it really Microsofts?

If it is "coming" via the Windows Update automatic
updates capability then yes it is from Microsoft.
This is the patch for a kernel message handler that
was released as MS03-013

There seems to be an issue lately with WU (again)
If you have recently allowed this to install, and the
autoupdate keeps wanting to install it again, then
you should post over in
microsoft.public.windowsupdate
so this will be to the attention of the correct parties.

I had the same problem and did what Roger Abell advised to you. Got back an
advice on that NG to use one of Doug Knox famous scripts and that solved the
problem. I think Doug's script writes the incriminate update number (or/and
title) into the register. You may thank to Doug Knox if you use his baby
