WINBOM Vs RIS

P

Pascal Bouchard

When trying to boot WINPE from a RIS server from a new Intel motherboard,
the bootup stops and gives me the following error message :

"The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary
drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system
image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit."

If i boot from the WINPE cd, a messagebox appears with the following
informations :

Title : Factory.exe
Caption : Failed to install network adapter -- check WINBOM

I tried to add the network driver with a procedure i found on the internet
($oem$....) but it still does not work.

How can i add a network adapter for WINPE boot ?

My motherboard is a Intel D865GVHZ, the onboard network chip is a 82562EZ.

Thanks.

Adding network drivers to Windows PE is different than adding network
drivers to XP (it doesn't use $OEM$). See the WINPE.CHM for details on
using DRVINST.EXE to inject the drivers into a customized Windows PE image.
This tool puts the INF, SYS, DLL, etc. files in the right places.
