Boot Dell notebooks from WINPE image on RIS possible?

Hi there.

Do anyone know if this is possible?
We have a number of different Dell notebooks which we are trying to
boot from a WINPE image on our RIS server. The image works fine with
our desktops but not laptops.

The RIS section works fine. As soon as I select the WINPE image, it
freeses at the progress bar... Starting Windows.

If one boots from the WINPE cd itself, it works as well. Just cant get
it to work on the RIS WINPE image.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Derek,

Based on my experience, there is a known issue with some Dell notebooks booting from WinPE on RIS
server. You may want to contact Dell to see if they can fix it.
