Win98 cannot login after automatic update server

C

Cahya

Dear all,

I have 5 client workstation still using Windows 98SE with
Windows 2000 Server SP4.

Last Saturday Des 13, I run 'automatic update' at all my
Windows 2000 servers and update everything from Microsoft
Website.

But since Monday, all Windows 98 clients cann't login to
domain with errors:
"The domain password you supplied is not correct, or
access to your logon server has been denied"

Other Workstation with Windows 2000 Pro or XP still can
login and no problem.

Could you tell me the problem? Is it possible cause I use
automatic update? and how to fix its?

Best regards,
Cahya

Hi Cahya,
First suggestion would be to check the Restrictanonymous settings on
the DC.

1. Set the RestrictAnonymous registry value to 0 or 1 on the Windows 2000
domain controller. This registry value can be found at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
Value: RestrictAnonymous

Value Type: REG_DWORD

Value Data: 0x1 or 0x0(Hex)

2. Restart the domain controller.

Let me know what that is set to and repost.

Thank you,
