win32 has encountered a problem and must shut down

After installing service pack 3 I'm getting the above error with the
following information:
Win32 has encountered a proble and must shut down
szAppName:svchost.exe
szAppVer 5.1.2600.5512
SzModname:rpcess.dll
I have run spybot, adware, ccleaner, a2squared, avg virus protection, pctoos
spyware. Most of these have also run in safe mode. My computer is clean to
the best of my knowledge. The error happens after the notebook comes out of
hibernation. I then have about a minute to close programs and the computer
reboots. Can you suggest anything? I've looked in MS website for issues and
haven't had any success to date. In addition to those programs, I have also
run MS Malicious Siftware Removal program and a Norton virus check problem.

The system gives the error when coming out of hibernation about 90% of the
time and always when the notebook has been moved fromt the docking station.

It might help if you posted the complete error from Event Viewer and any
other Error / Warning reports appearing in the system / application logs
in the 5 minutes before the error occurs.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

rpcess.dll! Is this a typing error by you as the file is rpcss.dll?

What is your computer make and model? Is the SP3 update installed?

Is your computer left on 24/7?

After the crash and the computer reboots does it run normally?

Hope this helps.

Gerry,
Please excuse me if I post this wrong. I am using a Dell 8600 Inspiron with
WinXP Pro and SP3. The error occurs after coming out of hibernation whether
on a docking station or notebook unattached. I have to shutdown the computer
and reboot. Things work fine until I put the computer in hibernation for
travel.

I've had the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 9300 coming out of
hibernation, both before and after installing SP3. The event log contains

And that is the first event of the day in the Application event log. Prior
to that are 6 messages in the System log: a DHCP warning, a DHCP error, 2
informational events for Browser, and 2 informational events for TCPIP.

BTW, this computer has an Intel PROSet wireless adapter, and Intel software
manages the connection, although the Microsoft connection stuff seems to
appear when the system's looking for a wireless network.
