Win32 errors

I've just reformatted my computer because of the following error.

Generic host process for windows32services has encountered a problem and
needs to close.

There is no software other than the operating system and Antivirus.
Everything was ok untill I downloaded SP2 from windows update. But now it's
coming up with the same error again. When I cancel the error it messes with
the network connections, I loose internet connection and the computer becomes
unstable.

Ususally a driver problem... printer, scanner, and sound card being the most common.
