Generic Host Process For Win32 Error

"Generic Host Process for Win32 services has encountered a problem and needs
to close....."

I am receiving this message when on-line - timing veries to within 2 minutes
of being on-line to 60. The only way to get back on-line is to re-start my
computer. I just wiped out my hard drive and re-loaded all of my software
and am still receiving the same error. Could this be a modem issue? My
operating system is XP.

I had the same problem. It has something to do with automatic updates.

Turn off Automatic updates, reboot, go to windows update and manually
install the updates, turn on automatic update and reboot.

This worked for me.
