win2k vpn issues

hi. i am testing access to my work ms win2k vpn on a win2k active
directory network with my office laptop running win2k. i dial up my
isp, erols, and then connect using the vpn client. i connect
properly, but i cannot see any hosts other than my own in network
neighborhood and i can't map drives using host names, only ip numbers.

ipconfig shows the ppp interface using the ipnum and dns's provided by
erols. the vpn adapter shows the number and dns provided by the vpn
server. any suggestions about what is wrong would be appreciated.
thanks.

Have you checked the "allow callers to access my local area network" dialog
box under the incomming connection?

interesting question...

I was thinking it was a wins or dns problem, since the IP routing is good,
but name lookups are failing.

What is the IPCONFIG on the PPTP (VPN) adapter after you establish your
connection?
