Win2k reboots after SP4 install

After installing Service Pack 4 on a couple SP2 systems,
Windows reboots just after the desktop screen comes up,
not even a chance to logon to the system. Just after the
splash screen finishes you'll see the desktop background
for about four seconds then the system cycles/reboots
again.

Any help on a remedy for the will be greatly appreciated.
