Win2K Pro Hard Drive Space Problem

S

SSJ4 Eric

I have an IBM Deskstar 40 GB hard drive. In Windows, It measures 38
Gigs, which is normal. Problem is, My drive's free space is strangely
dissapeared. My drive's reported free space is 1.3 GB. So I deleted
a lot of stuff, freeing what I estimate to be around 3-4 gigs of
space. But when I go into my computer or view the c:\, the chart
still says 1.3 GB. I've tried reboots and everything, emptied the
recycle bin dozens of times, it still shows that much. So I open the
C:\ and highlight everything. If I right click properties, everything
on c:\ takes up 33.8 GB of space. Why is the space visible here, and
not My Computer? I don't want to even download or install anything
with this little space being reported. Is there anything I can do?
