Win2K / IE 6.0 - 56 Bit Encryption problem

I use Win2K and have installed IE 6.0 in order to get the 128 bits
encryption key length. In my previous IE 5.0 I had 56 bits. It was
stated that with IE 5.5 and above, the key length would be always 128
bits. This doesn't work for me. When I enquire in Help/About, I
continue to get the 56 key length.
How can I fix this?
Thx,
Claude

I think you've misunderstood.
Microsoft says on their websites that
1. For the Win9x (also NT4??) platforms installing the 5.5 or higher browser
gives you 128 bits encryption
2. For the W2k you need to install
- or the high-encryption pack
- or (much better) service pack 2 or higher (which include the
high-encryption pack)
3. XP is out-of-the-box 128 bits

So...on W2k-platforms it is not the browser which gives you 128 bits
encryption but the underlying OS.
I guess you are still running W2k plain vanilla or only SP1?
