Internet explorer 6.0 - 128 bit encryption

M

Marietta

I cannot access web sites with 128 bit encryption.
This makes it impossible for me for example to reach my on-
line banking service.
I have downloaded Internet explorer 6.0 and it only gave
me 56 bit encryption.
How can I upgrade this version to obtain 128 bit
encryption?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Just go back to the Windows Update page and you should get the option to
load the 128 bit encryption. Are you in the USA or Canada ? If not then it
takes a little more to get the option.
Do you have the Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1? That also has the 128
bit cipher strength, but you should have gotten that automatically when you
downloaded IE6 (anything newer then IE 5.5 should have this already)
