Win2K After install issues; weird...

Hi all,
I have been having some unusual issues after a perfect
install and update of 2000 server so hopefully you all can
assist me. After I get win2k server installed and fully
updated to SP4 I would start adding programs (office,
photosuite, ftp server) and printers to it (hp p1000 and a
lexmark z54). After a few restarts, all of the sudden
some system 32 file will be corrupt. This has happened
three times already after the whole server has been
configured, always a different file. If I try to repair
the file with the win2k server cd, it would not even
start. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Sounds like its either bad RAM, DIMM slot or perhaps the harddrive. Try opening a command prompt and typing "chkdsk /r" when the computer reboots and runs check disk, see if there are any errors on the drive.

Try swapping out the ram for "known good" ram. There are some ram checking utilities out there you can run too, that test for bad ram. Try a google search for ram tester.
